The boundaries between juggling and dance are sometimes paper-thin. Juventud, created by Nicanor De Elia, works on exploring this boundary, inventing a common playground. On stage, five dancing jugglers engage in a ballet involving juggling clubs, hoops, lights and bodies. Inspired by youth (juventud in Spanish) and by futuristic movement which favours speed and fury, this performance evokes Pasolini’s ragazzi as well as a creating a scene where patterns, colours and lights acquire meaning. A poetic dance that is both wild and sophisticated.
